November means the coming of winter. Some people might say it's already here.  It has indeed turned colder, although not really winter-like, which to me means the temperature is 10 degrees or colder.  

But this weather does require a jacket and gloves when you go outside.  So, my question is, why is my 7 year old black lab shedding?  He has a nice thick coat and there are now big clumps of it all over my house.  Does he know something the rest of us don't?  Does this mean it will be a mild winter and his coat is too thick?
