Judas Richardson is withdrawing as *61's appointment as Commerce Secretary.  I want America to succeed in the worst way, but this one has special meaning for me.  Hillary might just be getting the last laugh afterall.

I notice in the Strib this morning that Vikings owner Ziggi Wilf is suggesting that building a new stadium would help jump start our economy.  He suggests that one third of the financing should come from him and two thirds would be taxpayer dollars. I say hogwash!

I sure hope so.  Somebody needs to take some common sense and fiscal responsibility to the bowels of Congress.  The current crop there need to find a conscience and begin finding ways to reduce all of the monstrous spending.  Future generations in this country will have broken backs from the weight of debt if the madness doesn't stop.  Check this out.

My wife and I went to town for our grocery shopping today and tried to plan ahead.  It is an 18 mile trip to town.  We shopped at the Cub's store in Baxter.  My wife purchased two cookie sheets for the price of one, one of their specials.  This was around noon.  We just now noticed that we never made it home with them.  I called the store around 7:00 p.m.

Are any of you familiar with the operation of municipal government in Breezy Point?  I do not live there but keep seeing discussion in the Echo and other papers.  My question is, why does Breezy Point need a city administrator making over $70,000 per year?  Most communities that size function just fine with a city clerk.  It seems to me that it is just one more way to overspend taxpayer dollars.

Can any of you clarify this for me? Is my assessment an accurate one or is there a demonstrated need?
