Getting the Facts Straight

I read the article and have been following the story lines of the dispute between Pequot Lakes and some of the local residents and business leaders over the police issues in their city and area. It appears that the City of Pequot Lakes is trying to side step their concerns , by trying to throw some legal mumbo jumbo at them. I applaud the citizens for trying to do what they think is right.

God and the Land

Can America and the Christians...or should I say so called Christians be so naive to think that "Enviromentalism" should replace the doctrine of Jesus Christ? There are many people who attend church every week, do all the right things, and call themselves "Christians", but clearly do not know what it means to be one. Just because you believe in GOD, doesn't mean you are a Christian. Muslims believe in God. So do Buddhists. So do countless other non-Christian religions.

Canine foster family - #4 The plot thickens

We found a home for Big Boy a couple of days ago.

Then yesterday I got a call from the shelter. The puppies are on the adoption floor,
but Mama didn't pass the temperment test. She started a stress behavior the day before - something she did at our house the first night. She chased her tail in circles while barking, then when she caught it she'd chew it until it was bloody.

At our house I thought maybe there was a tick she was trying to remove or something,

Obama Doesn't Put America First

My PERSPECTIVE:

Everybody can see around them that times are tough here in America. People are ever increasingly tightening their belts and trying to make ends meet. Foreclosures and bankruptcies are at a historical high...but does Obama care.

The United States Senate may vote any day on the stealth imposition of what could amount to an $845 BILLION United Nations style global tax on American citizens? It's called the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), and it is being sponsored by none other than Senator Barack Obama.

Canine foster family - #3 Moving on

I took Little Bo, Schnauzer Face and Mama to HART. After all the time and thought that went into the decision, I admit I was surprised at how quickly and smoothly the actual procedure was. I filled in a few blanks on a short form. HART staff and I took the 3 dogs to the kennels in the impound area. The puppies went into one kennel and Mama into another. That was it.

Canine foster family - #2 Getting to know you

When the first two puppies arrived, we eventually brought them into the house to see how they would do. We were concerned that our 3 adult dogs might act too aggressively and hurt the newcomers, so we left them outside and introduced them one at a time. What we got was a lesson in canine sociology.

When our most submissive dog, Bridget, came inside, the two puppies ran toward her yapping all the way. Bridget was scared to death! She jumped into a chair, and when they got too close, she flew a couple of steps across the room on her long, lean legs and oneo the couch.

The Democrats and Gun Control

The Democrats and Gun Control

If you look through the warm and fuzzies that the democrats try to portray when they speak on the issue of gun control and the Second Amendment, you will see why Al Franken , Obama, and Clinton do not like to talk about the subject. To millions of Americans, it strikes a chord with them when you speak of trying to infringe on their individual freedoms and rights. The bare essence of the right to defend yourself, would be precluded by their “common sense gun regulation.”

Taxes are done - but not yet in the mail

After paying a small fortune last year to have my taxes done, I decided to go the TurboTax route and do my own this year.  Yes, it was a little time consuming, but I figured I saved myself severla hundred dollars by plugging numbers into the software myself, rather than paying someone else $250 (or more) per hour to do it for me.  Every year I have to gather up all the W-2s, 1099s and whatever else and take one neat pile to the tax preparer - who no doubt uses software similar to what I did.

Education is a Privilege….not a Right!!

One of the most common arguments that school authorities use to justify public schools is that all children have a "right" to an education. And subsequently the right to other activities that have been a parallel with school, like extra-curricular activities. Where the notion of a basic right to an education comes from is anybody's guess. All basic rights a person has exists without any need of another person to lose their rights in order to provide that right. Freedom of speech is a basic right, no one has to lose anything to give you the right to speak out.
